Our Giant Mirrors and an Old Newspaper
Before we could start anything downstairs, we had to take down the giant wall mirrors. They weigh quite a bit so it was an adventure trying to move them while still being very gentle. Once we got them down I took some nice pics of them.
Behind the mirror that was blocking part of the window we found a copy of the New York Times acting as insulation. It was dated February 2, 1916, which means the mirrors have been hanging since at least them, making them around 100 years old. I’d assume they were likely acquired when the house was built, putting them around 1895. I’m not what you’d call a skilled appraiser, but, internet research seems to line up with that.
Oh and we’re selling the mirrors on Ebay because we don’t have any use for them ourselves
